The meeting had a grand jury composed by Michele Westmorland from the League of Conservation Photographers, Ivan Salazar of the Deep Space Diving Magazine, Isabel Mejia, Director of Latin American Fund and Nick Lucey Photography of "Into the drink program".

They all had the hard task of choosing among more than 200 images of the winning photographs.

The event began with a cocktail reception where they unveiled the contest, next day the trips to the island started, via submarine and on terrestrial landscapes. There, participants were able to capture their images. Starting with the land expeditions at 5 am to catch the first light on gaps in the north of the island. The land routes had numerous opportunities to take pictures of a variety of birds, plants and landscapes.

Tours of underwater photography were conducted in the world-famous reef of Cozumel for its beauty and variety of colorful corals, fish, sponges and other creatures that live here.

The winners took a U.S. $ 11.000 price in cash and cameras, wet suits, Presidente InterContinental hotel stays and other major awards.
